MY BIRTHDAY PARTY

Hey ladies! My name is Faith, and I run the blog A Pocketful of Prep. I recently threw my birthday party and I think everyone had a lot of fun. I was super excited when the Frosting Company asked me to write a post about my party for their blog, so without further adieu, here's my guide on how to throw your perfect party!

First, you obviously have to pick a date, time, and your guests. Think about what date would work best for you and falls closest to the day that you're actually celebrating. Also, if there are certain people you really want to attend, make sure that the date you choose works for them as well, if possible, before you begin to invite people.

Then, you need to decide on your theme, or if you even want to have one. I wanted everything pink, teal, navy, and girly.

Next, go shopping for the things you need for your party and try to buy them in colors/patterns that fit with your theme. Although these things vary depending on the type of party you are throwing, these things usually include disposable plates, cups, napkins, eating utensils, snacks, cake, and maybe some kind of center piece such as flowers. You can find most of these things at places like Target or Walmart, and you'll probably want to get a nice cake at a local bakery.

We all know that a party would be super boring if there wasn't anything to do, so try to think of a few activities that your guests would find fun before the actual party. These might include games, contests, DIYs, or anything else you can think of. I've seen a lot of photo booths at parties on Instagram, so I thought that would be a fun thing to do. I wasn't able to construct anything too large, so I just bought a big frame at Marshalls and popped the back out of it. Then, I drew things such as glasses, bow ties, mustaches, lips, and speech bubbles on cardstock, cut them out, and used wood glue to attach them to popsicle sticks and create props! My friends all loved it and we took tons of cute pictures using the photo booth.

You might also want to get some party favors for your guests to thank them for coming. I was super excited to have a box of preciously packaged Strawberry Champagne Bath Fizzies to give to all of my guests as party favors! All of the girls loved them and I know that they will love using the all natural products even more than they loved receiving them!
